Lightning GAUGE CLUSTER Into 97 Ford
Lightning GAUGE CLUSTER Into 97 Ford
Hey so i remember seeing a thread where a guy said you can't put a svt lightning gauge cluster into a 97-98 ford because 99 plus fords are digital and previous are not.....
... but my question is, what if i have ALL of the computers from the lightning too?? then can i just plug in and go or will it still not work??

The PCM for the Lightning and your truck are 2 different PCM firmware loads.
Some differences would be the trans you have ( unless 4x4 ) is a 4R70, the lightning is a 4R100 and the the PCM would be looking for the Supercharger.
There are at least a few other things that I am missing at the moment.

The swap would be the entire harness, all the sensors and the power train, along with the cluster.
This would be a better question for someone who has done the lightning power train swap out.

Sure someone that did a L swap also did the cluster so they didn't have to clear the PCM ID from the HEC to make the truck work again, and to get the boost gauge.
