1997 f150 SRS AIR BAG LFC OF 52
Hi Iam new to this forum, glad to be here.
here is my problem
i have a 1997 f150 that the battery got a short in it. it had 12.5 volts with no load on it, if you put a load on it it would be somewhere between 4.5 to 8.6.
when i tried to start it all of the lights in the insterment panel wouls flash on & off. I replaced the battery & everything worked ok except it had set a air bag flash code of 52. i have tried unhooking the battery this did not help. this air bag system was working ok untill battery went bad.
how do i get this code cleared out.
I think code 52 means it has seen low voltage but is seeing 16 volts now.
thanks for any help

Once the battery and charging system faults are corrected, you have two ways of resetting LFC 52:
1) Take it to a mechanic who has the appropriate scan tool. My buddy used his SnapOn Solus to reset mine.
2) Cycle the ignition 256 times without an additional SRS fault and the LFC 52 will clear automatically.
You cannot reset it by disconnecting the battery.

THANKS FOR THE HELP PROJECT SHO89!!
i have allready tried the 256 times of turhing the key on & off.
i just dont understand why the battey going bad made it set the srs lfc code 52. if that is the way it is to work i would think this would be a problem any time you had a weak battery.
thanks a lot for the help
