lights help

lights help

so I have 2 6" lights behind my grill. and they work great...for the first time when I turn them on but when I shut them off they wont turn back on until i shut off my truck and turn it back on....



any ideas?

Possibly a bad connection. Check and double check your connections?

I have looked everywhere. and all looks solid. its wierd I can only turn them on once everytime i turn my truck on. and they stay on so its not like anythings over heating or anything.

hardwired ??? maybe your source is only operationally with key on

I am using a add-a-fuse in the 5A spot that also powers the cig. lighter. that goes to the switch. could that be the problem?

cig light usual is a key on item try going right from batt source to switch an try again

ok ill try it. and ill also double make sure all the contacts are clean. and will report tomorrow. thanks for your help

are you using a relay? how do you have it wired up?

if it were me, i would do a relay like this

85 - hot with ignition
86 - switched ground
87a - power to lights
37 - fused battery source

ohhh that might be my problem..I have it as

87- battery
86- to switch
30- to lights
85- ground

ill flip it around tomorrow in the light...

could be taht the relay is getting flipped and then sticks because its still getting power on one of the polls

well the 85/86 is interchangeable

I would put the manual switch on the ground side (86), and then have the ignition feed wire into (85) Setting it up like this would mean even if you left the switch on the lights wouldnt be on if the key isnt turned on

didnt have to worry about fuse wiring with mine cuz i was prefabbed with my hellas ... just look at the diagram and plug the wires in .. call it a day

well I switched it around and I get nothing at all....any other ideas?
