electrolysis

cooling system, electrolysis? If you have had this problem, where or what was causing it.

Usually causes clogged radiators and also overflow tanks getting gunked up!

Electrolysis is caused by a bad ground some where on the vehicle. The coolant system is replacing that bad ground. Check this link. http://www.awrracing.com/media/electrolysis.pdf
Or do a google search for "cooling system electrolysis". Lots of good info on diagnosing and repairing.

It doesn't happen. It's a misnomer. What's actually happening is "galvanic action". Look them both up in a dictionary or WikiPedia.

It's too long to post here, but read the TSBs in this caption (both of which MISuse the term).
