I just installed a new HU in my '97 F-150. It was working fine--had the radio on while I was putting in sound insulation. Then, suddenly, it quit, and the dome light now goes on.....then off......then on......then off, and every time it does it, there's a click form under the steering column. THe stereo lights up and such, but no sound. I left it alone for a while, and the stereo started working fine for a bit, but then then the clicking with the dome light started again and the stereo quit at the same time.

BY THE WAY--this is with the key in acc. Now when the key is in run, no stereo at all. I haven't tried starting the truck since (carpet and seats are still out), and figured it was a ground issue at the battery, so I opened up the terminal clamp, shoved a piece of copper tubing over the battery post and put the terminal clamp over that. Still does it.

Ideas?
