How do I disconnect my security system?
I bought a 1998 f150 a few months ago. I never used the remote until I put a new battery in it yesterday. I started the truck to go to town and the alarm went off. I couldn't get it to stop so I cut the ground wire to the horn. The speedometer also quit working.

As much as I can remember, those trucks had the alarm integrated with the RAP module that controls your keyless entry. Might want to try a different remote, while disabling the one that you have. Sounds like a false alarm induced by the transmitter..
