Power wire for Daylighters

How do I set up the power wire(s) for KC daylighters? I've looked through the directions and it seems like theres 2. It says one should be wired to the high beam wire, and the other should be wired "to battery or other 12 volt source". The kit included a wire splice connector that I guess should be used for the headlight wire, but how do I put the connector on there, and how do I figure out which wire is for the high beam? Or should I do it another way?

The KC directions should detail this, but this is the Hella & PIAA instructions

In the bottom picture, step #8 is the power for the lights, this is attached to the battery. Step #7 is the power for the switch. If you are bypassing the switch, to have them on with the high beams at all time connect the wire from the relay to the high beam lead instead of via the switch.

I don't have a 1993 EVTM, so you will need a meter or test light to find which is the high beam on the headlamp bulb connector. If you look at both, you should see 3 wires. 1 might be black, this is ground. The other 2 are low and high beam. unplug the bulb and turn the head lamps on, and the high beams on. Probe each pin with the meter, the one with power would be the high beam.

Good luck

1) for the splice connector, do I just have to cut the shielding off the wire and put it in there? theres a small metal peice in mine that I guess is what transfers the power but it seems like it could cut the wire.

2) Do I have to use the highbeam wire or can i use either one?

I am not sure what you have. Is it a scotch lock ?

If so, no. Do not strip the wire first.

You can use what ever wire you want them to come on with.
