Need Help Fog Lights!

I just bought hella 500's and it comes w/ install kit, somehow I've followed all instructions and they still don't work (i consider myself a pretty savy guy when it comes to wiring, i used to work at a car audio shop)? anyway pennsylvania requires you to have fog lights shut off when high beams come on, can i tap into factory fog lights for power to the new hella lights in my bull bar? Or is it too much for the circuit, they are only 55 watts? any help would be greatly appreciated.

Using this drawing as the basis,

If you want them to work with the parking lamps or the low beam on the head lamp, for the coil ground on the Hella 500 relay, use the high beam element power. This is the light green w/ black stripe wire on either side of the truck ( 1 fuse/circuit for the high beams ).

This is how the factory fog lamps work on the '04 ( new body style ) + MY trucks.

Using the same setup as the factory fog lamps, the ground pin or pin #86 on the Hella relay, splice to the light green w/ black stripe wire.

Power to the coil is what ever you want to use ( hot in run position, parking lamps ckt, etc ).

When you say they still don't work, I am not sure what you mean by this, they will not illuminate, or the do not turn off with the high beams.

What ever you decide to do for the install, do not just hook them directly to the fog lamp circuit, without a relay, doubling the load on the factory fog lamp circuit is not a good idea.

OK, before getting to the functional change, how about we focus on a standard install.

I found some directions on Hella's web site

Right click save as :

Is this what your directions look like ?
