weak sounding horn,,,,HELP!
My 2001 f 150 horn sounds really wimpy...i noticed there are two horns next to each other..how do I know which one to replace? The dealer said he would sell me the pair for 68.00...should I do this or something else? any help would be appreciated!!!
You can unplug them 1 at a time, and see if the hi note or the low note is shot.
The horns list for 68, and retail online for 48 + s/h, so 60 from the dealer is not too bad. nice to see a dealer not wanting list or higher for parts.

i went to pick and pull for my Jeep horns...
went to an older buick car and took the 2 horns out...
2 bucks a piece.... put um in the jeep, and they worked like a charm...
that, or you could go the air horn route

I think the horns in our trucks are just wimpy sounding. I've been thinking about getting a different horn. Only reason I haven't is b/c I rarely honk.
It still is a little lame to have a wimpy higher pitched horn.

I have noticed that if it is 25 degrees out or lower, that my horn sounds really wimpy. I previously had taken them off and shook them and sounded like water was in them. I was able to shake some water out of both of them and they sounded better. Everything is fine now, so I will wait on replacing...
