97 Power mirror repair procedure

I was having problems with both power mirrors not working, and a new switch was no help. I finally decided it had to be some bad connections at the mirror motors. I am not sure what the proper process is to disassemble these things, but I pried/popped off the mirror glass, and exposed the motors and wiring.. after cleaning up the the tiny connectors where the wires attach to the motor, they all work now. But there are rubber boots that surround the mirror adjustment stems that are now unseated from the motor (the stems and boots came off with the mirror glass). I can not see how I can get the rubber boots reseated now when reassembling the mirrors. I tried popping the stems off the mirror (ball and socket press fit), and seating the boots and stems in the motor. But then I can not get the stems to pop into the sockets on the mirror. For now I replaced the mirrors so they operate, but the rubber boots are not seated properly in the motors... What am I missing here?

Recall what you are talking about from doing the muth install on my '01.

If you use the Muth Mirror directions ( www.muthco.com ), it will describe how to get the glass back into the mirror head ( if nothing was broken from the de-install or if you did not unseat the drive pins from the motor ).

Right click save as

Page 5 describes the install of the mirror glass.

Super, correct procedure works wonders.. If I had removed the mirrors correctly, the boots and pins never would have come out of the motors.... Thanks!
