Of the 4 wires in the connector you shorted to power. Two are grounds, one to chassis ground and the other internal GEM ground. The last one is the switch position sensor wire in the GEM. I would suspect that the GEM is now toast. There should be two dark blue wires in the connector. Check the resistance of both wires.

its wierd cause it all started when I changed to stock radio to a aftermarket, all I did was unplug the switch, unplug the radio and pull it out and plug the new one in.didnt do anything else except put the horn relay in it cause the guy I got it from removed the relay for the horn cause he said for some reason the factory alarm was going off and he couldnt get it to stop so he pulled the relay

To shift it back you will have to remove the shift motor on the back of the t-case and manually turn the gear to get it to go back into 2 Hi.

Try this. lay the connector flat. There should only be one way it will lay flat. there should be 4 wires on the connector. The middle two are dark blue. Key OFF with the connector flat the bark blue wire to the left should be measured. Check the resistance to Ground. It should be greater than 10,000 ohms. if it isn't then there is an open somewhere. If it is OK turn the key to run and test the voltage. Ground the black wire of your meter and probe the connector with your meter.
