Major Drain on battery
Major Drain on battery
After leaving my 2000 F150 sitting for a few months, I arrived to a dead frozen battery. Replaced the battery, but it drains in a day or two. I measured it and it is drawing 6 to 7 amps when switched off. The odometer is lit with the ignition off. I'm trying to sort it out, but wonder if anyone has any clues...
This may sound rediculous but check your hood light. i've seen this happen on a few trucks. Also do you have memory seats? Those things are notorious for draining batteries. I've even heard of junk PCM's draining batteries.
Dried out
When I drove the truck a bit, it started acting better. When I drove it to Arizona, it seems to have dried out and all is well again. There was a fair amount of dampness under the dash. It seems the roomate moved the truck from under the carport when I was off for 3 months working on a ship. Thanks for the help
Get your windshield resealed.
They will need to pull it out, clean out the old seal material, and lay a new bead of seal around, and reset the glass.
Some trucks ( don't know which plant ) had problems with the windshield not being installed correctly, and the sealant was thin / on existent in the lower left corner.
