Door Locks

I have a 2007 F-150 XLT Crew Cab and when you get up to a certain speed the doors lock. I bought the truck used and it did not come with an owners manual but I am working on getting one for it. My question is can I disable the door lock when I put the vehicle into drive. I am not crazy about the doors locking because if I am in a hurry the last thing that I remember to do is to hit the unlock button then I have to go around the vehicle and hit the unlock button. I know that the feature is suppose to be safe but to me it is really a pain in the neck. If all the doors would unlock when I put the vehicle in park that would be nice also. Any suggestions???

You can download an owners manual here :
https://www.fleet.ford.com/maintenan...ls/default.asp

If you want a print one, try eBay, and compare it to the new manuals from Helm Inc ( www.helminc.com )

I don't know about the XLT, if that has the message center or not. My Lariat that is how you disable the auto lock feature on the '04+ versions.

Maybe take a read through and see if the XLT has a different route, if you do not have a message center. On my '01 XLT it was a key on/off door lock process I think ( been some time, and I only read it, did not do it myself ).

Thanks for the info. I really do appreciate that. I did not get an owners manual with my truck so this will help me greatly. I have downloaded it and saved it to my computer. Thanks again!!!
