Battery warranty question.

I have a 2004 F150(New body style). My battery failed this morning. I am the second owner of this truck. My battery has been traced by the dealer I bought it from (also the original selling dealer when new) The battery is a Motorcraft MAX 36/100 battery. Since this is the original battery to the truck shouldn't i be able to use the pro-rate part of the warranty to get the batt replaced? My dealer says no but I'm not so sure.

ford is very stingy when it comes to their batteries. mine was going bad, and i would need a jump if mine sat for 2-3 days. well, after 2 trips to the dealer, they kept telling me "the battery is fine, the truck just needs to be driven every day" yeah, major line of BS. Anyhow, after not getting anywhere with them, i said the hell with it and bought a new one from Les Schwab (which now has 300 more CCA than the stocker) and i havent had any problems since.

At best, you would get a prorated price on an overpriced battery. I went to sam's Club for an Interstate that has a lot more cranking amps rather than mess with the dealer.

I wouldn't waste my time messing with Ford on warrantee issues on one of their junk batteries. Put the money down for a good battery $70.-$80. and don't frustrate yourself with Ford. I wouldn't, even if it was under warrantee.
