2001 F150 Overhead console

My compass/thermometer recently died on our '01 F150. How does the overhead console come out? Do I just pry it away from the headliner, or is their something else I need to do?

Thanks in advance,

Joe

If memory serves me correctly, there is a single screw towards the windshield, and I think spring clips towards the back.

Pull the screw in the front, and double check the back, but it should just be a pull down on the rear to drop the whole thing.

Sorry I cannot be 100%, it has been some time since I took out the overhead on my '01

I looked at it again tonight, there is no screw in front of it. Does it just pop off? I hate to force it and end up breaking it.

Sorry, that was kind of a crap description.

Towards the front, FROM the bottom. It is centered and recessed into the housing.

Here is a picture of the radar detector in my '01.

The unit is mounted on a spacer that is sharpened like a pencil with a longer screw.

Now that I look at the picture, there might be 2 other screws under the garage door opener panel as well. Maybe ? Pop the panel, and look up towards the back 2 corners.
