Alarm SYSTEM
Alarm SYSTEM
Hey guys,
Since i have put so much money in much truck and I will be leaving it alone for many days on a college campus, Ive decided to get a car alarm/remote start system. I've looked around and it seems that ebay has some that have some great prices. The one I think ive narrowed it down to is the: GSFK Alarm LCD Remote Start Security System 2300 B.
1. Do any of you know about this system?
2. it says it has a microwave sensor and that it sounds if the zone is violated, but would this mean that it will send out a warning beep first? most do i was just wondering.
3. Isn't 120 bucks a good price for a system with all these options?:
Ultra Long GFSK 2 way communications range
* Uses PLL-FSK technology. Strongest of all alarms
* 9,000 feet Longest of any alarm
* 3 km and 1.7 miles range longest of any alarm
Sensors Included
* 3D Shock Sensor Measures shock in 6 different directions, including tilt of the car.
* Microwave sensor measures motion inside and outside of car and sounds alarms if zone is violated.
LED Status Indicator
* To warn thieves an alarm is present
* Valet Switch included
Remote Engine Start
* Via remote
* Via inerior temperature
* Includes Turbo Mode
* Includes delayed start for Diesel engines if needed
* Smart Gear checking system for remote start
* Multiple signal detection (Oil, Tach, High Voltage)
Code hopping technology for Anti-Scanning and Anti-Grabbing
Compatible with factory security systems
Anti-Car Jacking Feature
Includes Auto Door Lock/Unlock
Automatic Window Rollup OUtpu
Door / Hood / Trunk Detection
Silent Arm / Disarm Feature
Automatic Dome Light Supervision
Remote Trunk Release
Programmable Auxiliary Output
4. Would the remotes have just a "vibrate" option? I wouldnt want it to go off during class if it didnt have vibrate...
5. here is the address if you all wanna check it out!

Alarm System
I installed professionally for almost 3 years, and I still install now but only on the side.
Let me give you some tips. I've seen quite a bit, including a vehicle that the alarm was stolen out of after they ripped the system out. SO, with that said, if they want it, they will have it.
BUT, the best way to go is by far the Viper lcd two way systems. I installed a 5900 for my friend's 04 F150. What you want is a properly adjusted shock sensor, and since the 04+ F150 have foam within the frame, anything that happens at the rear of your truck most likely will not set off the alarm. Make sure to have the shock sensor adjusted for just the cab otherwise any thunder or wind or other loud vehicle will continually set the alarm off. Your door trigger is your best friend with alarms. Check, re-check and then check them again to make sure they work properly. A good installer won't have any problems with this, but you want it done right the first time. Take the stickers from the alarm the say "Viper" and install them in your trash can. Some professionals thiefs can disarm systems fast enough as it is, don't give them any edge. I have a trick you can do with your led if you decide to install it. Email me for that if you would like. All those other add-on's you can buy for alarms are garbage. Save your money, stick with a basic two way system that has door trigger, starter kill, and a shock sensor. (You can get a nice discount on your truck insurance for having a starter kill.) As for the add-on's, the only add-on I would ever consider would be piezeo (sp?) sirens installed in the cab. When those things go off at least the person will be extremely uncomfortable. They are loud! 2 of those in the cab will add some disturbance. That's basically it. The best thing you can do is just admit if it really comes down to it, you cannot keep someone from breaking into your truck. Insure it and enjoy it.
I will help with any questions you have.

But at the same time, I agree there are some trash add-ons (Ultrasonic Disturbance sensors....) but there are some valuable ones as well (Glassbreak, Digital Tilt, and Backup Bat.). Piezo's are great little things.
OP - Make sure you go to a reputable shop, one who will take great care making sure the wires are hidden and disguised... Other than that a prayer every night is helpful. And go for a better alarm (DEI aka Viper/Python/Clifford or a Compustar/Compustar Pro)

Hit Travis up at KC Autosound ( www.kcautosound.com ). Was talking to him yesterday and he was planning on putting the Python systems on his website with the step-by-step installation instructions for the do-it-yourselfer like his other systems. He also offers Code Alarm, Compustar, Autopage, Autostart, and a few other quality systems.
Alright man thanks for the help! i dont know if I'll be able to beat the price i found: like $245 for entire python system, shock sensor, motion sensor, and tilt sensor. But I'll definitely look into the directions to self install. I really appreciate the help!
That's a good price. The 1601 looks pretty good. I just had a buddy order the Python 1091 from Travis a few days ago that I'm going to be installing for him. One thing about Travis is that he does not compete with the low ballers. He's a one man army with a small business to take care of his family. He not only runs his website but also installs locally in Kansas City for nearly 12 hours a day lately. He sells a quality service with a WARRANTY to back it up.
Here's the one my buddy got for his Silverado

I got the CA670 from travis and i believe it's the only alarm that works with the keypad on the door, Thats what sold me on it cause i hate having my keys on me when i dont need them. www.kcautosound.com
