I am wondering if this thing I have imagined exists. I want to have a relay that I can hook up to my factory keyless entry that activates the relay when I hit the unlock button some predetermined number of times (other than 1). I added the power unlock and power tailgate release to my 07 F150 and I want to be able to hit unlock say 4 times and on the fourth time have the relay activate my trunk release and drop the tailgate. I don't want a standard relay for obvious reasons (if not so obvious, I don't want the tailgate dropping everytime I unlock the doors.). What I imagine is a multi-pulse activated DC-relay. Hopefully this exists. Thanks!!

Besides, how would you interface it to the factory RKE receiver?

yes you can do it but not with the factor keyless it must be a aftermarket one like a viper keyless or alarm then you could do this.
