Airbag Code 1-9 ???

I've searched around here but can't find anything specific to this. Can anyone tell me what the airbag code 1-9 means? Any information is appreciated. Thanks.

Air bag code 1-9

This code is a hard fault in the drivers side airbag circuit. It could be a broken clock spring, faulty air bag module, bad wiring or a faulty Restraints Control Module. Your best bet would be to take it to someone knowledgeable with the air bag system. The diagnostic procedure is not complicated but it is very long and detailed. Your airbags might not deploy if needed.

Did you have an accident recently where the driver's seat belt pin got fired ( belt locked in place & won't slack or retract ) ?

This code, if LFC 19 & DTC B1231 — RCM Crash Data Memory Full, this means that a crash has been recorded by the RCM.

If you are only getting a LFC 19, then it could be a damaged RCM.

A regular DTC code reader might not pick up the B series codes, this is usually the higher priced ones with mfgr specific code reader modules included, that do this.

Airbag Code 1-9

Man, that doesn't sound good!? No recent accident but the light came on after I tried to cross over some curbing and bottomed out the frame. That's likely what caused this issue.

Sounds expensive but it'll need fixing. Thanks for the input.

I also have this code. I've had it for some time and haven't really worried about it. I know the bags won't deploy if needed now and wonder if it is an easy fix. I did have a front crash but the bags didn't deploy before the light came on. I'm sure this is what caused it to happen.

Working on getting the truck fixed up to sell and upgrade.
