Mirror upgrade install help !!!!

Hi all, i currently have power mirrors on my 06 screw, and for christmas my wife got me some power/heated/signal mirrors.... they obviously have different plugs for them..... im not too worried about running new wires and all, but im wondering if there is an adaptor plug available so that i can access the extra wires easily for the heater and signals? i already have wires run to the mirrors for the signals, but i need a good way to attach them to the mirrors. also, i need to know which connection within the new mirrors is for which feature.

Thanks in advance !!!

If they were bought for a 2006, then they should have the same connector on them, don't know why you assume they have a different connector.

If they were bought for a different MY F-150, then you would have the same connector, but some pin assignments changed.

You will need to see if the pins are connector ( for the additional items ) , with a XLT I would think not, but you need to check. If the wires are not there, you will need to add them to the door wiring.

Tasca Ford has the wiring listed on their website.

thanks for the link.... i had seen it before, but i couldnt find it. i know that the plug on my current mirrors only has 4 wires on each mirror..... but, i am going to need more. the new mirrors have 8 connections, since they have the added blinkers, and heaters. so, should i just get the plug connectors for a truck which came stock with the power/heated/signal style, ands then just run the extra wires as needed? how can i get some part numbers for the plugs i might need?

The Side towards the truck you are going to have to find a similar pin type and add then to the connector.

If you can go to a bone yard, that is the easy way to get them, else Ford has a pin & pigtail catalog that you can order from :
http://www.motorcraft.com/products.do?item=23

Don't forget you need the pins at the mirror connector end, the ones at the A-pillar connector end ( male & female ). Pictures of the door connector in this thread :

To get the door harness I don't know if Ford sells only part of it, I would imagine that it would be the complete door harness, same for the cab side of the harness.

Best off to locate a bone yard with a wrecked truck to pull this from.
