High beam + foglight mod = me needing more help

i have an 05 xlt with 7000k xenons in heads and fogs(fogs are stage 2, 10 extra watts), these HL and fogs are not HID.

I did the mod that makes your fogs stay on when you switch the brights on, worked great!! Had them dont for 3-4 months now and worked great.

Only now I have had the "brights" quit working in 2 sets of headlight bulbs. need help, did i mod it wrong or is this just a common occurance with the mod?

anyone know anything?

Or your high beams are burnt out, or the fuse is blown.

Check the connector for power at the high beam, or replace the fuse.

Moving where the fog lamp relay coil gets ground from has no impact on the high beams,

well the last time (less than a month ago) this happened I replaced the bulbs and everything worked fine. So what would cause both bulbs to loose their high beams simultaniously. And then to do the same thing a second time only a month later.

Never happened when they were on (always worked when they were in use then just all of the sudden one night they wouldn't turn on and havent since)

So now, since modded, when i flip my brights on the HL turn off, except the yellow lights, and im left only with my fogs working. pull the brights switch back toards you and the regular HL come back on.

fuses and relays "seem" to be fine

why is this happening? any chance they are just bad bulbs?

Only way to know if it is a bulb problem is to put the factory bulbs back in. If the high beam does not go out, that is your answer.

BTW : sounds like you are running these off the factory wiring, did you check the AMP draw on them ?

Like SSCULLY said, I would bust out the multi meter and start checking the draw on your wires!
Also, I would check out your grounds and make sure you have a solid grond!

Good luck!

check for power at bulb with a tester and hi-beams on.. if theres power, its a bad bulb(s).. if not check fuses and if blown, look for nick in wire or something
