Ecu

My ABS light had been on for a while now so I took it to the Ford dealership today to have it checked out. They said the ECU would need to be replaced and quoted the price of the part at $457.00 plus $100 for the labor. Obviously this is expensive, I checked on ebay and they sell them cheaper (around $175) but I am leery about buying anything electrical online and installing it myself. Has anyone else ordered one and done it themselves or had any experience with this? Is this something best left for a dealer to replace? Just trying to save some $$$.

I agree, it's not a part I would like to buy from ebay. I think the dealer is too high though. Try looking at some of the online ford dealers, or try this guy.....Randy Stinchcomb - Liberty Ford - 410-655-2000 ext 5618.

It is not hard to remove and replace.
