map lights out
map lights out
Well, I was messing around with trying to install some accent lights and crossed the wires on the map lights. Map lights dont work anymore, but dome light function is just fine - map lights and dome lights are the same bulbs. When I push up on the lights (map function) they shut off when the dome light function is on and the rear will go out when switched into the map or on position. Owners manual doesn't give a fuse for the map lights. Any ideas on a fuse to check? Other functions in the truck seem OK. Fusable link somewhere, maybe?
Thanks, in advance, for any responses.

The map light, and the dome lamp use of the same area are 2 different bulbs, not the same bulb.
The map light function is via the battery saver relay, fuse F24 ( owners manual page 242, Battery saver power for demand lamps ). This is circuit 705, light green with orange stripe wire )
The interior lamps are via Fuse F6, through the main headlamp switch, with the dome light switch ( panel dimmer all the way up ). This is circuit 53, black w/ light blue stripe wire.
That is the fuse info, a little help with what you spliced to would be useful in trouble shooting the problem, if it is not Fuse F24.

I was "testing" the circuits on the overhead light to attempt to figure out which was constant hot and which was switched by the door. Whoops, I must have grounded the positive on the hot circuit. I am 99.9% positive it is the same bulb in the map and dome functions. It is an 06 xlt.
I'll try the fuses you suggested. Thanks!!!
