No Sidelights or rear lights. 2003 F150

Hello to you, be nice to me as this is my first Post!

Living in the UK and having always owned American Trucks. Running a 2003 Harley.

Changing a bulb yesterday, one of the wires touched the body. Heard a click.
Having checked every fuse and bulb on the truck I still have no sidelights or tail lights, or panels lights
Headlamps work as does everything else electric.
Reading the Owners manual it does not state which fuse is for sidelights.
Is there more than the 2 fuse boxes, under steering wheel and under hood

Can you help me on this

Many Thanks, Martin

This is a translation problem of sorts.

The name in the US would be exterior lamps or parking lamps.

This is in the Battery Junction box ( aka under hood fuse box / panel ) fuse #6, 15 A.

On top of this being a little translation problem, the fuse description is for the main headlamp switch and park lamp relay ( if you have the running board lamps option ), and requires a bit of un-logical deduction to find it ( page 181 in your owners manual ).

This fuse feeds the exterior lamps, circuit #14 ( brown wire ) to the front and rear parking lamps ( exterior lamps, or in your case sidelights or tail lights ).

The other part that is not clear ( without the EVTM ) is that BJB Fuse #6 feeds the fuse that is marked Instrument illumination # 18 5A, Central Junction box ( aka passenger compartment fuse box/panel ). That is the other translation, it is Instrument illumination in Ford speak, not panel lights.

The translation is a Ford to any kind of English problem, not specifically Properer English

hope this helps, let us know if this cures your issues

Well that really did help!

Took a look at Fuse #6, removed it, all ok. Then used some air to blow into the connector and something blew out, like a small part of plastic. Replaced the fuse and lights came on. Well done you.

FYI: I have now removed the UK white lights and restored the parking light back to original. Much better.

Thanks for your support.

Martin,

No problem, glad you got it fixed. When I am over there in December we can meet at the pub for a pint of IPA or two.

Actually, I might just stick with Jack Daniels, I seem to do better with 2 large JD neat
