Overhead temp reading FAIL!

Anyone know how to fix this? Obviously it was not 140 out.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, especially pics.

I would say a failed sensor, but I know from Rangers and Expos, the temp read -40 when it was wired improperly or failed. Could still be a bad sensor or a loose connection. Does the temp change at all when driving or upon a cold startup in the morning?

No change at all. I've tried 3 different overhead consoles, but they're from the scrapyard so I'm not sure if they're good either. The back story is that one day there was water in my overhead console, from a heavy downpour. One of my clearance light was leaking, never happened before or after. Since then it's been reading 140 degrees. Then main issues with swapping out used consoles is that they could have been exposed to rain also.
