Offroad light wiring - need advice

I'm about to install 4 Hella 500 offroad lights on top of my headache rack but I need some advice. Where is the best place to run the wire(s) from the lights back into the cab? Through the rear window weatherstrip maybe? Or is there a better place?

Also, do people typically wire auxiliary lights so the switch is always hot? I know there's a chance I could 'accidently' leave the lights on and run down the battery. I was planning to run the switch off a fuse that is only hot when the ignition is on.

Any advice is appreciated...

The power for when to turn the lights on, depends on how you want them to work.

If you want to be able to turn them on at any time, then the switch always hot is the way to go.

If you want to be able to turn them on without any other lights on, but the key im the run or accy position, then that is another option.

The last option is only being able to turn them on with the parking lamps being on.

Where to run the switch for the lights into the cab of the truck, depends on where you want to have the relay for the lights at. Under the hood would be the best place, but that is really your call. Where do you want to have the relay(s) at ?
