check engine light stays on

My check engine light won't go off. I tried an add on gas saver (supposedly) it didn't work. The instructions said to disconnect the iat(intake air temp.) sensor and install the chip ( gas saver) and the light will come on and then go off. But it was a scam and when I reconnected my iat sensor the check engine light won't go off. I have a 2003 f-150 crew cab with 40,000 miles. It worked fine before the chip installation. Any suggestions? Thanks

Try disconnecting your battery for 30 minutes and see if it goes away.

Not that smart, just remembered it from on here. Glad I could be of assistance, and welcome to the site.
