Question Driver side power window switch intermittent

2006 f-150 super crew.... the power window toggle switch for the drivers side window .... I have to keep pressing it 4-7 times for it to roll window up or down...... bad or dirty contact maybe.... truck has only 26,000 miles so its still under dealer warranty. Any suggestions.... or would the dealer warranty take care of it ?

Dealer will fix it under warranty, I just had mine done last week along with the brake recall.
If you plan on doing it yourself just buy the entire 4 botton switch controller at the parts counter, pull up on the panel that holds all this stuff, a small screwdriver may help to get the corner lifted up then just unplug everything from the non working and remove, reinstall new switch controller and reconnect the wires, that simple.

Order one of these ( Part Number is for a SCrew ) :

The 2006 is pop off the speaker cover ( the notch to put in a plastic panel puller is at about 1:00 or ~ 5" down the curve of where the tweeter is at or should be at ).
After the speaker cover is off, the switch panel is held down with tabs and spring clips.
The clips are at the rear, and front of the flat part of the cover ( none on the arc portion of the switch cover ).
Pop the panel up in these 1 locations, and the tabs are toe'd into the door panel. At this point the switch is under that panel, and is unclipped and removed, replaced with the new one above. all set.

The window switch is not but the brake booster is, here is a search about the issue.

I just took mine apart a few mins ago and cleaned it after sanding the bad contact as seen in the pic. I used a fine fingernail file and cleaned all contacts with DeoxIT from here http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showd...number=341-225. So far it works, no long term test yet but no more trouble going up. It seems as though there is/was arcing on the contacts, no moisture that I saw or felt. The DeoxIT has a petrol chemical (PETROLEUM NAPHTHA) in it to repel moisture if any gets in. Here is another pic of the switch

Note: if you plan to do this, you will only need to pop off the four window switches. No need to pop the window lockout switch at the bottom. They are on there good but they will come off. Use a small flat screwdriver to pry the four tabs holding the top on. There are six tabs on the bottom part, which I did not take apart. Any other questions, PM me and I will help if I can.
