Can one of you electrical guru's fill me in as to what this code is? This past weekend I installed an inverter under the passenger seat, and monday morning I noticed the cluster flashing the airbag light. The code that followed was 1-6. After doing a thorough search on here, I would assume that dinking around under the passenger seat should yeild me a 1-8 code if anything. However the two may be totally unrelated.

A code 1-8 refers to passenger air bag deactivation indicator. It could be as simple as a loose connection under the seat, a loose connection at the restraint control module(rcm), burned out bulb on the pad indicator light or a loose connection at the pad indicatror light.

 

no the code was 1-6... I figured it out though.. if anyone else gets this code, it's for the passenger seat belt sensor at the floorboards. Easy fix.
