Mini Message Center is dead

The light is on but no one home. Unable to see odometer readout or warning messages.

I did notice I blew out the #42 fuse for trailer lights on my last trip. However I did not see any other fuses blown on in the book that would cover this.

Truck runs fine otherwise. 2006 F150 XL 4x4 4.6L v8 ~43,000 miles

Any clues? Thanks...

Hey man this is happening to me right now. Mine flash's on and off. I am looking into it and hopefully there is something that will be an easy fix, or it will just start working. If I find something out I will let you know.

I saw another post somewhere they also didn't have an answer. I kind of hoped once I replaced my fuse it might work but no luck.

I'm afraid if I took it to a dealer it would be a $.10 fuse that cost $75 diagnostic time. I'll post when I figure it out..

My Mini Message/compass center which hold my mileage went out. When the lights are on it lights up green like the rest of the panel but there are not any numbers or compass. sometimes it flashes for a few seconds but wont stay on. Ive tried looking for a fuse but the owners guide doesnt use mini message center as a location on the fuse panel so i dont know which fuse to check, i also check every fuse possible but some dont show a spot where it can burn out. They are enclosed.

Alright an update, I noticed that my trailer brake lights were not working and the last time I used the trailer was about the time the message center worked. Since my owners manual didn't tell me which fuse was out I took it to the dealer, they said I needed a new console ~$600 and they also found the fuse for the trailer parking lights and fixed it. Since i needed the truck the next day I held off on the repair. On the way home I noticed the message center was working, 6 weeks later it's still working until last night. However I also used my trailer last night for the first time in 6 weeks.

Since this was once revived from the dead, I'm going to check all the connectors and fuses again.
