What year and model? If it is an 89, I don't know what could be wrong.

This has been covered for the 97-03 models, you may want to search the forums.The jist is the motor hangs up, some guys take the motor out and smack it , then put it back in. I myself remove the door panel, and speaker, then smack the motor with a hammer while pressing down the switch, Then I grease the regulator heavily.

If it is a 2004, the tracks seem to be the problem.

For what you describe (for an earlier model), check for power at the motor while the switch is depressed, most likely the motor is burned out. Sounds like the relay is giving it power.

test light, volt meter, etc etc

if you dont here the relay click when the switch is pressed, could be relay, or the switch itself. you can try swapping the relays around for a known good one

Remove the speaker, the motor should be visable. Just smack it with a hammer thru the speaker hole. Bet the motor will work again. Do this while depressing the switch which is hooked back up.

To remove the motor;

there is a hole in the door below the speaker, this is the inner door skin pass thru so that you can reach the bolt. There are 3 total that hold the motor in. To the right of that hole is two dimples, you need to drill the inner door skin to make two more pass throughs to reach the other two bolts, When removed, the motor comes out the speaker hole.

Same problem on my '99.
The Master switch in the drivers door was bad.
I read that the passenger door switch is a 'slave' and if the drivers side goes, then both are out.

I think it was about $100, dealer repair.

Easy test for the motor, apply 12V pos & neg to the connector going to the motor. If it works, could be either the pass or the driver's side switch.

If it doesn't work, try this thread
https://www.f150online.com/forums/el...dow-motor.html

The relay under the dash is for the one touch down portion of the driver's side window. There is no relay for the other windows ( aside from the acc delay relay, which powers the switches ).
