Door Lock Help
Hey Everybody,
I am new to the boards and could use some help on a problem I have. My girlfriend has a '02 Ford F-150. Her truck got broken into about a month ago while she was at work. The dude used a screwdriver in the lock to get the door open. I have been looking through the forums and this seems to be a problem alot of people are having. Well, we let it go for awhile since it didn't look real bad, we just couldn't use the lock. About a week ago, the actual lock cylinder decides to fall in the door leaving a hole where it used to be and now she can't roll down the window since the cylinder is blocking the window from rolling down. My question to anybody that would know, is it hard or a difficult job to replace the lock? I figure the door panel has to be taken off but other than that what would be involved? The Ford Dealer quoted me $500 dollars to fix the lock. The truck has power locks with the keypad. Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
