Power Door Locks; FAIL!

Hello all!

First: The Problem= I just inherited a '98 F-150XLT regular cab long bed. The power locks are the only thing that don't work. I have no remote and doubt my uncle (the previous owner) would have paid for the option (if it was one). When I hit lock or unlock on either side, there is nothing. Not even a click.

Second: Troubleshooting so far= I checked the 25Amp fuse under the hood and it was blown. I replaced it and they still don't lock or unlock. I pulled the center dash cover and read every contact on the four relays (One large, three small) after I had swapped each of them out with a known good relay. I found the constant grounds but never found the ground supplied by the lock switches when I pressed them.

I have no manual or schematic. If anyone can get me in the right direction or let me know which relays I should be looking at and what I should read at each terminal I would be grateful! I realize it's possible that both lock actuators are toast but the lack of hearing a relay even try to actuate anything makes me want to look elsewhere.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Are you sure the fuse didnt blow once you replaced it or once you hit the door lock/unlock button? I would check it again. You'll need to find where its shorting if its blown again.

I did check the fuse again and it is good. What really baffles me is the absence of even a click. I even had my fingers on each relay under the center dash and I felt nothing when the door switches were pushed. Is there anything in between the door switches and the relays? As I understand it, the door switches provide a ground but I haven't had any luck getting a wiring diagram to verify that.

Anyone?

Anyone?

Bueller???

Locks/horn/CC suddenly fail

Realizing this is an old post I still have the same problem. I have a 1994 F-150 Crewcab/4x4/longbed/xlt. As of late wiring seems to be going haywire and it started with the locks about a month ago. When I purchased the vehicle the airbag light was flashing 3/2 and the horn and cruise didn't work. Pretty simple figuring it was probably the clock spring. I had it about 1.5 years and replaced the heater core, battery, solenoid, starter, clock spring, manual selector switch, and throttle position sensor (having transmission slipping out of gear problems). About a month ago I went to replace my clock spring and discovered my locks weren't working, they were completely ded (dead), as in nothing going on. The clock spring fixed the CC/horn/airbag light. Then about 3 weeks later I discover my horn and cruise control no longer work. I am at a loss for all of these problems. I have thought possibly my eecm might be bad and possibly my alternator not working properly, but the pull on the guage seems to be within norms and does not exceed 15 volts or below 12. I did discover that when the clock spring went bad, instead of fixing it, they simply put in a switch by splicing and I am hating the possibilities. I will look to see if I have any shorts tomorrow and clear those up. If anyone has any insight into a possible combination of problems I am all ears. I did replace the the relay without testing it, just assuming that was the problem with the horn, but still nothing on everything.

I forgot about this thread...
Problem solved. I went to replace the solenoids in each door and found the driver's lock switch unplugged. Yup, I felt like an ***.
