Another fog light question??

I have a 2001 SC 4x4 w/ factory driving lights. Can I wire them to come on when my headlights come on?? Also Can I make it so they stay on when I switch to high beams..(I did a search and seemed all I could find was about aftermarket lights)?

Thanks for the help.

Since you are looking for both functions ( on with headlamps and on with high beams, does this mean you don't want them on with the parking lamps ?

The reason I ask, is you can do it one of 2 ways, the parking light method is easier. The on with both the low and high beams will require 2 diodes to be added inline with the splices.

On with parking lamps:
pull the fuse in the central junction box, fuse #27, 5A.
On the back of the main headlamp switch, splice the brown wire to the yellow wire. This is using the parking lamps to power the factory fog lamp relay ( low current draw, about 0.10 A ).
That is it, all done. Both of these wires are on the main headlamp switch.

Let me know if you don't want them on with the parking lamps, and I will modify the factory diagram with where to locate the diodes and splices.

Will that method work with the light switch in the auto mode?? If so I usually never just reun the parking lights so it will work great.

It will turn on the fog lamps any time the headlamps are on, so yes is autolamp mode, the parking lamps are turned on with the headlamps.

It will not turn them on if you have DRLs, and those are on.
