Trailer Plug..

Bought my 05 F150 and noticed when I test drove the truck it had the round plug(7 point) plug.. After I did all the paperwork gone... Anyway what is the plug that comes stock.. I am hookin up our horse trailer tomorrow.. The male plug fits our 00 superduty.. Pretty sure thats the 7 point.. If so am I just tapping into the flat 5 wire plug on the back.. Thanks for the help..

it should have the 7-pin and the 4-pin. both are the standard harnesses for trailers. the 7-pin is used when the trailer is equipped with brakes.

really, i have no idea what you are asking here. is it easy enough to just go to the horse trailer and see if that plug will hook to your truck or compare the plug from the superduty to the plug on your truck?

I'm not very clear on what your asking either but if it may help, you can pick up 7 pin adapters down to 4 pin just about anywhere. Even walmart carries them. There's several combinations and even extenders if needed.

Here is an example from tractor supply if the link works.
