I resently had my truck in the shop for repairs from a wreck. the warning ding normally only came on when the lights were left on and I opened the door or I left the key in the ignition and opened the door. Now the ding comes on every time I open the door. Lights are off, keys are out and that annoying ding still stays on. The shop said I would need to reprogram the system and my owners manuel would tell me how, but it doesnt. HELP how do I go about programming the warning ding to only come on when its warning me of something, not EVERY time I open the door. THANKS!

 

Take the plastic cover off of your steering column. There is a plastic clip with a single wire mounted to the ignition cylinder. Just remove the clip and tape it off. Problem solved. I'm guessing that the clip has already came off, its just grounding out on something inside the column.
