Will it just "plug and play"?

I have an 07 xl, I want to upgrade my guage cluster to one with a tach. I haven't looked to see if it will just plug up. And dont want to get into buying a new cluster if it won't work. The dealership said they didn't know... wtf? And one more thing. If this will work which cluster do you guys think looks the best.

Plug and play.

But, if you have PATS, you will need a dealer to reflash to make the truck and keys and PATS happy and to reset to the proper mileage in the odometer.

As for what looks best, someone else can chime in there. My friend had an 07 XL with the tach in it already...I couldn't complain about that particular cluster myself.

I have an STX with the 4.6 last november, same tachometer-less cluster as you. After reading posts on this board with success stories, I swapped mine to the FX4 cluster. It took a little convincing the dealer to just "do it" and trust I would take all responsibility if it did not work. It Looks great.

SO - I had to have the new cluster ordered with the mileage, the parts guy verified, return my cluster as the core, and then have the dealer reprogram.

The only problem I had was my predator tuner did not work after the swap because the vehicle then had a different calibration ID. The guys at predator wrote the new CALID into their new version and I was good to go.
