Wire ID

I need to know which wires in the tail light are to the brake light, full time hot, and ground. I am installing a cap on my 2008 Screw and need to wire the inside dome light and aux. brake light.

first : Don't make comments about getting help fast enough. If there were 10 views, maybe it was people just reading the thread, does not mean those 10 had the answer. When comments are made about not getting help fast enough, it usually turns members off help that person. It was only 12 hours, and the weather is nice, they might be out with their families, I know I was.

second Stop lamp for the aftermarket CHMSL on the cap.
The Stop lamp circuit is not at the rear of the truck, you need to go forward to find either :
1. The Brake light switch on the brake pedal
or
2. The after market CHMSL lead, which is on the under side right side if the truck ( splice S333, on the way to the CHMSL on the cab of the truck ).

third :
The ground is under the truck, on a lug to the frame. If you take a look at the trailer tow adapter ( 4 or 7 pin ) you would see it just fine. Don't use the ground in the tail lamp housing for this.

fourth :
There is no full time hot in the tail lamp. Don't know why you would think one is there, but it is not. You have parking, stop/turn, and reverse.
The only place to find a hot in the run position is in the 7 pin trailer tow adapter.
You are looking for the battery charge circuit on the 7 pin ( this is from the trailer tow owners manual that you should have gotten with the truck when new )
