Just get an owners manual so you have the instructions.

Download for free from ford.com

ok i looked up how to add a code, nothing on removing the factory code to replace it that i found.

enter factory set code
press 1-2 button
enter new personal code, each number within 5 seconds of the previous number
after the code is entered the locks will cycle to confirm the code is set.

at least thats what my 08's manual says...dont know how different the keypad systems are but its worth a shot.

The owner cannot change the factory code.

Again, instructions are in the owner's manual on how to set a personal code.

yeah have fun with those plugs...i had to tighten one on my old 99 and it was "easy" at the time took me about 15 minutes...next day the plug blew out haha. i know you wont have that problem but it was my last experience with plugs on my trucks! i let the mechanics handle it now. haha
