4X4 & Low Range light in the guages flashing?

4X4 & Low Range light in the guages flashing?
The 4X4 and Low Range Lights keep making a clicking sound and the lights will flash a couple times and then stop for about 2-5 minutes and then come back on and flash again. It seems to happen most once im at a constant speed and then accelerate. What's causing this?

Mine started doing this not too long ago...I found that when starting the truck, if you turn the key to the on position (NOT start) and let all the lights go off including the 4x4 lights, they will not come on.
