Cruise Control Servo

2002 F150 Screw.

I've been t/shooting a cruise control inop problem lately. Last night I disconnected the wire harness from the cruise control servo and it was full of some type of oil - it smelled like brake fluid but had the consistency of a light oil.

My question is: Is the servo liquid filled? I can't figure out where else the fluid would have come from. I don't see how this has anything to do with the cruise control brake switch recall so I'm "assuming" that the servo failed and dumped that oil?

I have done the key on diagnostics and do not get an indication that the servo has failed.

Thanks!

You found the dielectric grease that is supposed to be there. It is used rotinely to prevent corrosion in electrical connectors.
