04 f150 lariat no cruise control

I just bought the truck, everything seems to work but the cruise control. I took it to a local dealer (chevy) that a buddy of mine works at and they replaced the steering wheel controls . It still doesnt work, radio climate control etc all work, buttons on wheel lite up, but I have never even seen the dash light indicator for cruise lite up. Any suggestions?

I had the same problem on my 94 f150. not sure if it is the same thing, but the dealer changed the "Clockspring" and all was well. not really sure what it is but my understanding is it is a connection in the steering wheel assembly that lost connection or something like that. works fine now.

You may need to get with a dealer to see if the cruise has been turned on in the computer.

Maybe someone installed the steering wheel buttons but never got around to the computer-related part.

I was thinking the same thing, I took it to Chevy cause I get at cost and discount labor, but they dont have the com[uter to check the brain. I thought I had it licked when the ford dealer said no power to cruise control, so we put a new wiring harness and switches on the steeering wheel, same as before everything lights up and all buttons work cept cruise cont. 200 $ later. So I guess its off to Ford with one less option that could be the culprit. As far as the clockspring I just assumed since everything else works on the steeering wheel it couldnt be that, I might be wrong.
