Car alarm info requested

I'm looking into buying a car alarm, particularly the Code Alarm SRT-9000. Can anyone who has this alarm give me their opinion on it? Also, does anyone know of a reputatable alarm installer (good job for cheap) in the Houston area? Any info would be greatly appreciated!!

Actually, does anyone have any recommendations on whatever alarm system they use? I don't particularly need a pager but a remote start would be nice.

go with a code srt system, i have the code ca671 its nice but the range kinda sucks which is whats different about the srt systems they have a better range

and a good cheap installer would be you. buy from kcautosound.com and he will include detailed instructions on how to install on your truck, shouldnt take more then 4 hours at the most

Even with zero electrical experience as I've never wired anything in the car before?

I am not sure if people in the south can get these, but here in MN/WI area COMPUstar is the best. I have one with a 2 mile range on the remote with the paging system, color LCD screen, auto start and a tracking system.

KCautosound sells that brand I believe. I went to a local shop that's a dealer for Viper alarms. I talked to the owner pretty extensively yesterday and he recommends to go for one of the Vipers he sells (of course) but price wise it comes out the same. I believe he mentioned a 5900 series? I haven't done any research on them as of this moment as I just stepped into work but will do so throughout the day. Are there any Viper alarms with remote start (I'll add a tilt sensor as well) that y'all would recommend?

the 5900 is a remote start, 2-way with a mile range. and it reaal is a mile+ when nothing is in the way. tilt sensor are that great. better is just the shock sensor or a proxy sensor but they are hard to set

E-Bay is your friend! sometimes I find just what I need on there.

DEI is launching new styled remote start 2 way remotes. You should check them out. http://www.directed.com/

But if you are just gonna wind up with the srt 9000 just get it from Travis at KCAutosound, he'll send you the instructions and a prewired alarm to install specifically for your truck. I've seen a bunch of people over in the audio etc forum on here have good results.
