In my wifes 2002 Ford Taurus with the passenger side rear door when you open the door the dome light will not come on. All the other doors work the proper way, (when you open the door the dome light comes on). Anyone out there got any suggestions on what to check for before I take it into the dealer?

 

the switch in the door is gone. im going to assume the door ajar light does not come on either. basically it thinks the door is always closed. try the sticky at the top of this forum. the only difference is the sticky is refering to the truck thinking the door is always open, yours thinks it always closed.

 

yeah I tried that but maybe I didnt use enough. I will try it again and if it doesnt work I am going to the dealer.
