Outdoor Temp Sensor

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Well after a month of --- degrees on my dash temp guage I figured it was time to get it fixed or get a new sensor....stealership quoted me 65 bucks and the wrong part number..so with the wonder of the internet I did some searching and digging and found out that "BWD" industries makes our sensors and they are sold under different names and part numbers....you can go to your local Parts store and ask for the "Blue Streak" brand part number WT381 or the SMP(standardmotorproducts) part number TX12....walked out of the store with 35 dollars out of pocket....took it home....figured out how to disconnect the harness popped the new one in....got in the truck..turned the key looked down at the dash.....guess what?............ it was cold out side...a balmy 30 degrees....yes it now works.

He has an 02' F-150 so it's not in the dash, but rather the over head console.

To the OP, I would check with the dealership. I'm sure it isn't a cheap part, but I know I would miss mine.

Let me calify this a little.

I do not think its the sensor.

In the OVer head counsil, it goes BLank/Black nothing there.
Then if i smake it around a couple of times or push button or even leave it alone it comes back with the right temp.
Temp has never been an issue.
I am thinking more like the Display?
Could i be wrong.
