Problems with truck

I have an 03 super crew and there is a tone that keeps going off and there is not any warning light on the display. Also when I shut the truck off the fan blower for the heat/Ac keeps running, it will not shut off untill you turn the blower switch to off. When these things are happening the left door lock will not work, the window switch is intermittent and the wipers work intermittent.Thanks...

Your GEM is probably going out on you. Check your windshield on the drive side to make sure its not leaking onto the GEM.

The GEM module is located just to the right if the steering column under the dash. It fits in a bracket attached to the back side of the dash. It controls lighting, door locks, windows, etc... That's why they call it the the General electrical module. Have the truck scanned to see if there's any codes stored in the PCM. Some of these GEM's have to have the data downloaded from it and re-loaded to the new GEM. So don't just swap it out. THat's really a dealer problem to solve.

I got a question. I'm trying to put a stupid illuminated switch in where i have a regular switch. The old switch works fine, but when i hook up the new switch it blows a fuse everytime. I run the power to the power, acc to acc, and ground to ground. I tried using 2 different switches, the first one worked only it didnt light up and the second switch just blows the fuse off the get-go. Am i missing something or am i just stupid?
