The warning buzzer "dings" when ever the driver door is open,, even with the key not in ignition,, and the lights off.. Any ideas on what it might be? My thought is some sort of relay.

i have the same problem, the radio and heater fan will continue if they are not turned off. This started about a year ago. I took it to the Ford dealer and they said it was electrical switch under the dash. The switch was about $300 and it required removing the windshield to replace. Also said they would probably break the windshield when removing. Total cost including labor $1200 to $1400 to fix. I said never mind and they everything started working as normal again. Now a year later it is doing it again. A friend of mine has the same problem. I am also looking for ideas. My truck is a 97 F-150.

 

Thats crazy man. My fan and radio shut off like they should,, its just that warning buzzer. its gonna drive me crazy,,, im actually gonna try 2 things , replacing the ignition switch relay, and the door ajar relay. the 2 of those dont even add up to $50 , so i figure its worth a shot,, ill let you know how it goes.
