I made a post awhile back about how i can tell it a certain truck came out with keyless entry but only answer i got was to see if the truck would program for it or something like that and i don't have the truck in my possession.I have done allot of searching on the web and looks like grom what i see it was a standard feature on all 2001 f150. Is there a way i can tell with the vin #?All he said he got when he bought the truck in 2002 as a second owner was the key with an alarm and remote starter keychain.The vin# is 2FTRX18L01CA53282.It is a 2001 f150 extended cab xlt with a 5.4l engine.Any help here would be greatly appreciated.

 

Ok ,I tried the key on and off real fast so many times in ten seconds and the door locks locked.Does that mean it has keyless entry and all i need is the transponder?

Now what is it your trying to do?
From what i got, your trying to figure out if your truck came with stock keyless entry right?
And if you did the key turn and it went to program mode (lock unlock) then you more then likely have factory keyless... Unless it was the aftermarket alarm that did it.

If you have power locks, windows and mirrors im pretty sure it would have keyless too.

If you followed this and the doors locked and unlocked, that means it can be programmed for RKE fobs, and has the RAP / CSM ( depending on the build date ) .
