WIll my truck accept a keyless remote?

Just when I thought I knew everything about my 97 F150, I went and bought a new/used SCrew. Now, I have a whole new list of things I need to learn.

Anyway, here's the question - I bought a used 06 SCrew XLT. It didn't come with any remotes, only two PATS keys. It does have the drivers door number pad for the keyless entry (which I am still trying to get the back seat out for the factory code). If I buy two remotes, will I be able to program the truck for them?

Thanks

I'm not much of a betting man...but if you have the keyless entry on your door then your truck will accept two properly programmed remotes.

Sorry didn't see this post.

Try entering programming mode, to see if it will program RKE fobs.

2004 + MY trucks are a bit different, I have seen posts where members have the VSM/BSM with the 5 digit number, put in a keypad, and still had to take a trip to the dealer to have it enabled.
Looks like a feature request from the Dealers, as the forums gave too much DYI information, and dealers were getting cut out of a revenue stream

Give it a try, if it does not work straight away, try again, as I had problems on my '01, and it took me 3 times to enter programming mode.

Good luck, let us know what happens

Thanks SSCULLY. It worked as you suggested. I followed the instructions and the truck went into programming mode. I then got on ebay and bought a couple of remotes for $10 and just got done programming them. Everything is working perfect and just in time. I got stuck the other day when the lock froze and I couldn't get into my truck. I haven't locked the door since then.

I'm still trying to get the back seat out to find the code for the door keypad. I might just give up and hope the dealership will pull the code for free when I go get a couple of warrenty items repaired.
