windshield wipers, radio, power windows, and cruisecontrol
windshield wipers, radio, power windows, and cruisecontrol
I have a 2002 F150 supercrew and non of these work when I start the truck but when I turn the key back to auxiliary everything works. I've checked all the fuses and all the relays and they're all good.
About 3 months ago I did change the battery and about 2 month's before that our dog got a hold of the wire harnes that runs under the driver side door and right by the licence plate. Would her chewing on the harnes have anything to do with my problem?
No I didn't get rid of the dog, it was my fault. Shes a puppy and still chewing on everything and I parked way to close.
I really only need the wipers right now, I can live without the others.
Thanks guys
Kev.

I doubt the puppy is responsible.
I'd suspect either the ignition switch or fuse circuit F1.113 is open. If your backup lamps work, that eliminates the F1.113 circuit except for the portion that feeds into the ignition switch.
Locate the ignition switch. Locate the two large yellow wires. Both must be always hot feeding into the switch.
The BLACK/LT GREEN wire exiting the switch should be hot in both the RUN and ACCESSORY positions.

Thanks a lot!!!! I thought I had check all the fuses but I hadn't.
If you lived closer to Louisville KY my wife and I would take you to dinner.
It's been raining here a lot and she had to take me to work and pick me up. We started joking about me using strings to pull the wipers back and forth.
I do have a question, why are the backup lights and the cruse control part of that fuse? Is there anything else that is also tied into that fuse that I didn't notice?
Thanks again,
Kev.

I take it that fuse was open.
My best guess is that the design engineers basically added the auxillary circuits to whatever had the capacity without any real logical reason.
F1.113 goes only to the ignition switch. From there, in the RUN position, it goes to CJB and is distributed via F2.5 (Backup lamps, Speed control, DRL, HVAC selector switch, & Blend door actuator) and F2.6 (Instrument cluster, shift interlock, and the GEM module). In the ACCESSORY position, it feeds F2.8 (Radio, GEM) and F2.11 (Wipers/washers).
BTW, RAIN-X works wonders. Makes wipers unneeded in many circumstances.
