No power to stereo head unit
No power to stereo head unit
I posted this in the audio section, but then I realized that it probably belongs here instead...
Well, I got my new deck today, crimped my harnesses together, plugged it in and! ...nothing.
so I pulled the deck out and saw that the yellow (constant) power came uncrimped (it looked to be a poorly built butt connector). my first thought was that I blew a fuse, so I checked the fuse on the deck and it was good.
Then I checked the fuses that my Haynes manual said were hooked to the stereo, and they were both good. (a 5 amp under the dash and a 15 amp under the hood. the 15 amp is constant)
So I plugged the stock HU back in - no power. No clock, no nothing.
What else could I be missing? How can these fuses not be blown? Maybe my Haynes manual suggested the wrong fuse numbers? I believe it said to check fuse 6 under the hood and 8 under the dash.
Everything else electrical seems to be working, even the interior door lights, etc.
